Cardiff University’s FAQ on ’seeing your tutor’

The FAQ about the personal tutor system states that you should see your tutor at least 3 times a year, this being the minumum compulasary meetings.

    It looks like personal tutor in this case being your personal support mentor and not your teching staff.

    I would expect the minum amount of meetings with you Accademic Tutors to be much higher.

    Obviously i’m not sure what it’s like in other departments, but in my department (EARTH) my tutor is really good. It’s the same with all of my coursemates. They actually come and find us to ask how things are going, i think that’s why the pass rate on my course is so good.
    It just shows that if tutors make an effort to get involved, it can make a huge difference to the overall standard of education.
